2nd Annual Kingston Quran Memorization Competition 2026
We are delighted to announce the 2nd Annual Kingston Quran Memorization Competition, a collaborative effort between Manar Academy Private Islamic School and ISK Weekend School. Following the tremendous success of our inaugural competition in 2025, we are excited to bring this inspiring event back to our community on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
This competition is open to all Muslim community members in Kingston, Belleville, Brockville, and surrounding areas. Whether you’re a young student just beginning your memorization journey or a dedicated hafiz who has memorized multiple juz’, there is a category designed for you. We invite participants of all ages and skill levels to join us in celebrating the beauty of Quran memorization and recitation. The competition will feature two distinct streams: the Sura Memorization Stream for students in grades JK through Grade 12, and the Juz’ Memorization Stream open to participants of all ages, with levels ranging from 1 juz to the complete 30 juz.
Participants will be evaluated by qualified huffaz judges who will assess tajweed, memorization accuracy, and (for the sura stream) understanding of meanings. Meanings can be found in the meanings file. Beyond the competitive aspect, this event is an opportunity for our community to come together, encourage our youth, and strengthen our connection to the Holy Quran. All participants will receive recognition prizes, and winners will be awarded valuable prizes at our Awards and Ceremony Day on Sunday, April 26, 2026. We look forward to seeing you at ISK Masjid as we celebrate this blessed occasion together.
Registration is now open! Early bird registration is $20/participant (deadline to be announced), with walk-in registration available for $25. - Specific surahs assigned by grade level
- Juz’ Memorization Stream (All Ages)
- Graded on: 80% Memorization, 20% Tajweed
- 8 levels from 1 juz to 30 juz (complete Quran)
